The closest train on display near my home in Phenix City, AL is actually just across the river in Columbus, GA. Fort Benning actually. There is a 1918 Davenport 2-6-2ST behind the National Infantry Museum. It used to move troops and material around the area of the fort on a 60cm narrow gauge track. Here'a a video I took:
