1926 Baldwin 4-8-2 and Surprise Find in Amory, MS

Yay we finally got back on the road for summer vacation in July of 2020. We were headed for Branson, MO so that path led us through some areas we had visited before. That was pre-YouTube so now we could actually get video and do some updates. I've already covered Columbus, MS here, but next up was Amory, MS where we re-visited a 1926 Baldwin 4-8-2.

Now the coolest part of this stop was what we found next. There was an area nearby that had a lot of old vehicles and amusement park rides all over the place. There was a steam tractor, and even some boilers lying around.

And then, way in the back I saw it.

According to the steam train database website, there was now a 1912 Porter 0-4-0 in the city now and we had found it. Funny thing is, this is a train we had searched for in Warrior, AL back in 2018. Cool.

Also right there in Amory, was a BNSF terminal so many diesels were lined up on the tracks.
